There is a combination lock on this box. To change the combination, click on the arrows located above and below the dials. When you believe you have the right combination, click the 'open lock' button.
Next to the locked box, you find a small scroll.

You have found a clue. It must be referencing the combination lock. Look around the castle and see if you can find puzzles that fit the descriptions here. Then see if those puzzle, when solved, provide a number for the lock.
