Is the price for a virtual escape room per person or per event?

The price for a virtual escape room is a flat rate per event and can include 4 to 8 people for most of our escae rooms. Team-building escae rooms are larger and hold up to 12 people. We can run multiple escape rooms at the same time for larger groups. Please call 801-473-2780 if you have a large group. Prices may vary between virtual escape rooms.

What are the age requirements?

Some puzzles may be difficult for children under 10 years old. We recommend children 10 years and older. Families can contact Mystery Escape Room for special circumstances. Please call 801-473-2780 for special circumstances.

Do I need to account for a time zone difference?

The virtual escape rooms are listed on a Mountain Daylight Time Zone. If you are located outside the Moutain Daylight Time Zone then you will need to account for a time zone difference.

Each time shows 3 events, will I be joined by other people?

No. You will never be joined with other people. All virtual escape rooms are private. Mystery Escape Room has the ability to run up to 3 different private events at a time.

How many people can I have in my group?

Our Friends and Family online escape rooms requires at least 4 people to play and you can have up to 8. Our Corporate Team building rooms require a minimum of 6 people and can go as high as 12.

What kind of computer system do I need to play?

The virtual escape rooms run best on laptops, cromebooks, and Desktop computers. Your system will need to have a webcam and microphone for the video conference. Cell phones and tablets will NOT work.

Can I play with people who live in other countries?

Absolutley. That is the great thing about virtual escape rooms. It gives you an opportunity to play with people who are far away.

What Video Conference Software is used for the Virtual Escape Rooms?

We use Google Meet for most of our games, but can accommodate Skype, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and more video conferencing for Business Events.

What if I have an emergency and connot make it at my assigned time or if I foret to come? Will I be able to get a refund?

Payment and Refund Policy: Events must be paid in full to be laced on our schedule. If something comes up that requires a change in time or date, we will do our best to reschedule the event to a time that works better for our guests. If immediate rescheduling is not possible, we offer full credit for the money paid toward future events at no charge. We do not offer cash refunds. Multiple Room Booking Refund Policy: For reservations of four or more rooms for the same time slot need to be rescheduled or cancelled, we can do so up to 48 hours prior to the event. If given less than 48 hours' notice, there will be a $10/room rescheduling fee. We cannot offer a credit for a cancelation at or after the scheduled start time.

Should I leave a tip for my room guide?

Tipping your guide is not required or encouraged. We’ve instructed our guides to not ask for a tip of any kind. We are happy to bring you our adventures without any additional obligations. If you are pleased with your guides service, a simple thank you will be enough.

For customers who insist on giving their guide a tip, they can use Venmo. We have a Venmo link after the Thank You form at the end of the adventure.

What constitutes as one player?

One player is equal to one computer. Each computer may have up to three people.

What is the price to go to Mystery Escape Room?

Prices vary depending on your location and time of day. Visit one of our location's webpages to learn more about prices.

What are the age requirements?

Are food and drink allowed in the room?

No food or drinks are allowed in the rooms.

Can I book a private event?

Yes. Private events are a great way to experience Mystery Escape Room. Prices vary, contact your closest Mystery Escape Room for details!

Do I have to sign the waiver to participate?

Yes. If you do not sign the waiver, then you cannot participate.

What if I buy 2 tickets and nobody else buys tickets for that time?

If nobody else buys tickets for that time, you will be contacted to see if you would like to reschedule. We encourage you to book where others have already booked if there is room for your group.

Can I bring more than 12 people if I book a whole room?

No, only 12 are allowed in a room at a time.

Does every group escape from the room in time?

No, but it is always fun! We want the rooms to be challenging. It is possible to escape from every room, however most do not escape in time. Each room experience varies in difficulty so some may be easier to escape than others. All room experiences require teamwork, leadership, and quick thinking to get out in time.

What if I have an emergency and can't make it at my assigned time or if I forget to come? Will I be able to get a refund?

Please contact us and we will be happy to reschedule your event if you have an unexpected issue. We do not offer refunds, but are happy to reschedule or place your tickets on will call for later use.

Can other player's join my room?

Yes, most of our rooms are sold as public tickets, however you can book out the room as a private event by contacting your nearest Mystery Escape Room location.

What time should I arrive? What happens if I'm late?

We ask all of our guests to arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time in order to sign our waiver and review the rules. We do reccommend also visiting the bathroom prior to your visit, so that your room isn't delayed. If you are going to be later than your start time, call your location to inform them of the delay, Rooms will start promptly on time, however can be delayed up to 15 minutes. At the 15 minute time, you may run the room with less time than the allotted 60 minutes, or you may reschedule your experience.

Do we need to make reservations, or do you take walk-ins?

A reservation is greatly recommended as it allows us time to prepare your room and have proper staffing. However, walk-ins are taken based on availability. We always try to get you in as quickly as possible but wait times can last up to 60 minutes but may be longer depending on the size of your group as well as available tickets.
In order to reserve your room, purchase of tickets is required.

I have a health condition, is it safe for me to play?

Some of our rooms do require physical activity, have small spacing, low light, flashing lights, and loud noises. Some of these effects can be deactivated to accomodate your group however. Feel free to contact us for more details about each of our rooms and we'll be happy to assist you in selecting a room that best fits your needs and get it scheduled for you.
